Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand a local civic subject with accuracy, context and a calm, plainspoken explanation.
What to pitch
We consider concise explainers about civic roles, public processes, records, services and neighbourhood participation. Strong proposals identify the reader's question, the specific subject, why it merits explanation and what useful distinction or insight the piece will offer.
What makes a strong contribution
A good pitch is focused, original and clear about its limits. It defines unfamiliar terms, separates evidence from opinion and avoids presenting local arrangements as universal. We are not looking for promotional copy, unsupported claims or guidance that substitutes for professional or official advice.
How to send a proposal
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline, your relevant experience if you wish, and any conflicts or other interests connected to the subject. A pitch is not a promise of publication.
